I’ve decided to stop drawing for a week or two – couple of reasons: I’ve three projects to hand in (a multimedia one, a database one and an essay about .. I dunno … stuff) two have to be handed in by Tuesday, the third … some time after that, but I’d like to get it done sooner rather than later. It’s the first time in a long time I don’t feel I’ve any pressing drawing on (and… you know… I never have *that* much stuff to do, it just gets a bit much between the two jobs, the college and wife and child).
So, this weekend looks to be pretty busy, there’s a kinda of comic conventiony type thing on (which … you know… I do kinda feel a little left out about). Gotta go visit the in-laws. Gotta get two projects done want to go see Hitchhikers guide when it starts and … TIGER.. rargh. (It’s a Mac/Nerd thing)
I will rant about tiger after the jump… (it will get VERY boring so don’t click it…)
DULL STUFF AHEAD!
Here’s an interesting thing (to me at any rate) you can buy yourself a 20″ apple monitor and a mac mini for about £1000 incl VAT. That’s fecking amazing.
I’m really looking forward to tiger, specifically, spotlight. There seems to be two reactions on the interweb: spotlight is kinda cool – and so are all these other things (dashboard, et al) and the other reaction … the one which I’m expecting (and which I expect other people will have as they use it) which is … spotlight will completely change how you use a computer. I don’t think many people get this. Instant searching for documents is cool (in work I use outlook combined with a program called ‘lookout’ which adds searching to outlook and I’ve now taken to emailing myself things I want to remember – the emails I send myself will include the information plus other keyword type information including common misspellings I make so that I can always find it) but so is the smart folders – a kind of smart playlist for files. I’ll be creating one called ‘2000AD work’ which will link to anything 2000AD related, one called ‘Artwork – Final’ which will contain only large TIF or PSD files and many others. It’s kind of exciting the possibilities. I’m hoping with mail I can set up smart folders containing word or rtf documents which I’ll name ‘scripts’ (I have something similair but it creates duplicates of emails cus I want them left in their original places as well added to my script folder).
Anyways. Told you it’d be dull. Right off to bed. Night.
