Woohoo! Although all I’ve gotta do now is scan it all in and paste it up and then post the CD with invoice! Paris tomorrow, back on Friday. I doubt I’ll be blogging much from Paris (although you never know).
Greyscaled about three pages, leaving two pages and three floating panels – should get those done tomorrow. Which means I might be able to post my Warhammer work off on Saturday (before we head off to France). I’ll be coming back to: another N&C episode (my regular monthly gig), a Batman Sample script (supplied by James Peaty, the writer on the seven – I hope to get two/three pages pencilled before Bristol) and a couple of proposals to be put together with Jaspre Bark and Stu Taylor. I’ve no other paying work lined up, but I’ll be on the phone to 2000AD when I get back to see if I can’t convince them to give me something.

Jaspre Barke’s Stripped Bare, roughly A4 size comic strip for a sci-fi magazonme
Went shopping for my Dad’s birthday present (phoned Dad to tell him his birthday is on Monday – he’d forgotten [assuming he ever knew] Mum used to be the keeper of the dates, now it’s fallen to Annette – the trick seems to be to write them down…)
Talked to Warhammer, they seem to be happy with the way the arts going, but I’ve gotta get this greyscale done.
Spoke to Jonathan Williams my friend in Paris who Annette and I are staying with.
er… that might be it.
|3 pages of greyscale painting.|
On the face of it I seem to have done more than I expected, but it was definately less than I would have liked. Tomorrow – no procastination.
Not long to go – off to Paris from Saturday for a week. Did a page of Nanas and Custard and greywashed the big double page splash – looks cool, but not sure if I’ve differentiated the plains enough.
Well, here we go. Every minister is gonna fall over themselves for ways to use ID cards because it makes the job of governing people much much easier. But the question is – are we here for the government is or government here for us?
Page 7 is finished and I’ve got a bit of the last page pencilled/inked (I’m inking it as I draw – makes it easier to come up with whats on the page – I have in my head a precise idea of where I want certain things on the page but it’s a page with lots and lots of noodly details and there’s little or no point in pencilling that stuff only to then ink it – I might as well ink it straight off the bat). I’ve just completed the greywash on page 1 so tomorrow finish the last page and get pages 2 3 and 4 greywashed (yup, I’m tired …)
I really can’t state enough how fundamentally opposed I am to this.
Mr Blunkett: UK Passport Service and now of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency currently taking place should take account of any potential for the future. Yes, I accept that it is important that we do not pretend that an entitlement card would be an overwhelming factor in combating international terrorism.
So, strike one for the ID cards being a way of reducing terrorism.
